The foundational idea of this film was to explore how characters can change forms in animation but can still be recognised by there fundamental shapes that create them. The story was written to move the characters throughout different environments and allow them to transform into various animals. The male character is built from sqares, the female from circles and the antagonistic force they encounter in each environment from triangles.
The story follows a growing relasionship between the two central characters who start of as reckless, timid, and inconsiderate, but over the course of the film work together through several situations to become more mature and strong.
Visually, I wanted to challenge myself to create more detailed, painterly backgrounds to make a more immersive world, and played with the lighting and colouring to match the dreamy tone of the piece. The characters were kept much more simple to both seperate them from the backgrouand and to make thier movements and expressions more distinctive.
